DDE Example: Data from RS232 Barcode Scanner into MS Access
When application does not support “HOT” DDE Links, CPS Barcode Wedge can act as DDE Client. In this case CPS acts as a DDE client, connects to target application and initiates DDE communication.
Typical example is transfer of barcodes into MS Access:
- When the data is received from barcode scanner, CPS Barcode Wedge Software sends notification to MS Access (executes command/macro in MS Access).
- MS Access establishes DDE communication with CPS Barcode Wedge Software and receives barcodes.
- Data is processed in MS Access and can be saved to database.
